PEORIA, IL - Emmett Edward Jones, 58, of Peoria died at 5:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center from natural causes.
Edward was born Nov. 1, 1953, in Peoria, the son of Emmett E. Jr. and Martha Lorraine Bush Jones.
Surviving are one son, Matthew Edward (Rebecca) Jones of Versailles, Ky.; two sisters, Marilyn Kuntz of Princeville and Carolyn (James) Catton of Peoria; one granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Jones of Versailles, Ky.; nieces and nephews, Nanette (Ed) Mulvey of Pekin, Eric Kuntz of Princeville and Jason Catton of Peoria; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Edward graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism from Bradley University. He worked as an account executive with various advertising agencies in Peoria.
He loved to write and enjoyed photography and attending the Peoria Municipal Band concerts. As a journalist, Edward traveled through the Soviet Union and Europe, including the countries of Scandinavia, Russia, Poland, Germany, Netherlands and Britain.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in downtown Peoria.
Edward loved and valued his family, especially his son and his son's family. He had a great sense of humor.
