George Lyle Jones
True greatness is measured by the amount of love in one's heart, and how much of it was freely given.
We say goodbye to Lyle Jones, a great man who went home to Heaven on Nov. 14, 2005 in Boise. Though saddened by Lyle's passing, his beloved family and friends may take comfort in knowing we can walk with him again one day.
George Lyle Jones was born in Notus, Idaho on Feb. 7, 1930 to George and Floye Jones. He was married to Mary Jeane Wallace on July 15, 1950, until Mary Jean's passing in 1993. Lyle later married Barbara Schaefer of Boise.
He is survived by Barbara, daughter Kay (David) Coski and a son, Ed Jones, as well as respective grandchildren, Michael and Rob Coski, Austin Jones, and Terra (Stacie) Harris and their son Bryce. Lyle is also survived by his sister Sharon (Don) Corbin, a brother, Sam (Joy) Jones, and by Marijo, Sam (Jeanine) and Matt Schaefer, to whom he became a loving stepfather. Lyle enjoyed many things in his life, especially his beloved family, his numerous friends, various ministry and church activities and (of course) golf.
Lyle touched many lives with his warmth, faith, generosity and sense of humor. There are many who are proud to call themselves his friends.
