PORTLAND -Rhoda L. Doughty, age 54, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Jan. 17, 2014 at Maine Medical Center after fighting through a long battle of health complications.
She was born in Portland on Nov. 1, 1959 the daughter of Clifford and Joan (Taylor) Doughty.
Rhoda grew up in Portland graduating from Deering High School. She was not only a loving mother, but a grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt who had a heart of gold. Rhoda enjoyed cooking, crocheting, horse races, bingo, going to the Sea Dog games, shopping, couponing, going to the fair, and spending time with her two grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Clifford Doughty, III, and a sister, Sheila Godin. She is survived by her parents, Clifford and Joan (Taylor) Doughty of Portland; her daughter, Lisa M. Lombardo of Windham; her sister, Betty Walls and her husband, Gordon of Gorham, her sister, Wanda Coombs and her husband, Larry of Falmouth, her sister, Melinda Brown of Portland, her brother, Phillip Doughty and wife, Becky of Topsham; two grandchildren, Max and Saige; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
