  Garden City Telegram March 25, 2006: ELKHART - Martha E. Snyder, 89, a former Elkhart resident, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Monroe, N.C. She was born April 23, 1916, in Manhattan, to [Dr.] Fred and Bessie Lee Murdock. She and her husband, Don, lived in Elkhart in the early 1950s and in Colorado from 1956 to 1969, eventually building their dream home on a lake in Loveland. They later moved back to Kansas, where he returned to farming in Wilburton. They remained there until her husband's health failed and then sold the farm in 1996 and went to live near their daughter in Charlotte, N.C. Her husband died Dec. 23, 2004. Survivors include her children, Geri Christine, Tina, Jay and Kirk; and two grandchildren.
