  Batavia Daily News May 15, 1939 Corfu, May 15.- Mrs. Ella VanPelt Haskell, widow of Elias Haskell, died at the Buffalo City Hospital at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning (May 14, 1939), where she was taken on May 2nd following a stroke of apoplexy suffered at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Caulfield, No. 135 Gelston street. Buffalo. Mrs. Haskell was 67 years of age and. was born near Schenectady. Mr. Haskell died June 3, 1917. She was a member of a Baptist church in Buffalo and while in Corfu attended the Presbyterian Church. She cared for the late Mrs. Martha M. Dillon from June 1937 to January 1939, and, previous to that had cared for other Corfu people. She is a sister-in- law of Mrs. Clara Haskell of Corfu. Surviving, besides Mrs. Caulfield, are two other daughters, Mrs. Florence Peters of Long Island and Mrs. Mildred McKurth of Buffalo; one son, Charles Haskell of Buffalo, and nine grandchildren.
