  Batavia Daily News March 1, 1918 Corfu – March 1 – George William Haskell, son of former supervisor Elmer Haskell, died yesterday at the home of his parents a mile west of Corfu. He had been in ill health since last November and six weeks ago he suffered a shock of paralysis. Mr. Haskell was born in the town of Alabama on October 29, 1890. On May 2, 1916, he married Miss Elizabeth Harris of Corfu. Besides his wife and his parents he leaves an infant daughter; a brother, Harold Haskell, who resides at home, and a sister, Mrs. Edward Higgins of Batavia. _____ Batavia Daily News March 5, 1918 Corfu, March 5. A large number of people attended the funeral of George A. Haskell held from the home of his parents, former Supervisor and Mrs. Haskell. Out of town visitors: Mrs. Elias Haskell and two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Harris and Mrs. Mary Brill, all of Buffalo; George Haskell and three children of Elba; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor and Mrs. Frank Smith of Byron; Mrs. DeForest Haskell and daughter Alice; and Mrs. Lloyd Haskell of Indian Falls; Supervisor Lumley of Alabama; Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Pratt of Batavia and Mrs. Forks. The interment was made in Evergreen Hill cemetery.
