  The Blade (Toledo, OH) January 17, 2021 Grace Marjorie Reid, age 100, of Waterville, OH passed away January 9, 2021 at Browning Masonic Community. She was born June 18, 1920 in Holland, OH to Charles & Myrtle (VanOrman) Taube. She was a 1938 graduate of Holland High School where she met and later married her husband Paul Reid. Shortly after the news that they were expecting their first child, Paul was called to serve our country in WWII so she moved in with her parents on their farm until Paul returned home to meet his son, Paul Jr. They built a house in Holland, Ohio where they raised Paul Jr. and 13 years later they welcomed their son, Charles. In 1961, they moved to Waterville where Grace became a faithful member of Waterville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed getting exercise and on nice summer days could be found putting mileage on her bike around town or her stationary bike at home. In the fall, she loved cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys football teams but would turn off the television if they were losing to avoid unnecessary stress. No matter what time of the year she always had cookies stashed in her freezer whenever a visitor popped by. She was a fantastic cook and loved to bake. Whatever she made in the kitchen was a work of art, especially her pies. She could often be found at the library checking out books and particularly loved mysteries. Grace is survived by her daughters-in-law, Vera Reid and Carol Hahn; grandchildren, Kirk (Kelly) Reid, Susanne (Ron) Donnal, Joel (Michelle) Reid, Nathan (Dana) Reid, Aimee (Rick Bush) Reid; and great grandchildren, Andrew (Jenna) Donnal, Mark Donnal, Taylor (Mike) Fasolo, Madison Reid, Jake Reid, Spencer Reid, Haley Reid and Zoe Reid, Ethan Reid, Lincoln Reid and Evelyn Bush. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Reid, Sr.; sons, Paul Reid Jr., and Charles Reid; and siblings, Charles, Harry, Arthur, Howard, Marian and Irma.
