Higgins, 67, of West Genesee Road died at 6 p.m., Sunday (May 29, 1988) in Genesee Memorial Hospital, Batavia, where he had been a patient since April 14. A son of Edward C. and Emily J. Haskell Higgins, he was born in Batavia May 21, 1921. He was a retired miner from National Gypsum Co. of Clarence Center. Mr. Higgins was a member of the Cathie-Wild Post 9000 VFW, the Corfu United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Florence Swimline Higgins; two sons, Douglas C. of Plattsburg and Charles E. of New Jersey; a daughter, Nancy of Florida; eight grandchildren; a half-brother, Myron Chittenden of Corfu. Mr. Higgins was the father of the late Robert C. Higgins and brother of the late Edward Higgins.
