ADAMSON -- Joan Frances Adamson, 58, surrounded by her loving family and close friends, passed away peacefully after a brave battle with gallbladder cancer, Friday, March 23, 2007, at her home in Placitas, NM.
She was born April 29, 1948 to Frank and Beverly Horton in Hayward, CA. Joan was raised in the California Bay Area where she met and married "the boy next door" and love of her life, John Adamson on September 11, 1965.
Joan and John had two beautiful daughters, Christine in 1966 and Kimberley in 1968. They lived in Pleasanton, CA until 1995 when they relocated to the Albuquerque area due to John's employment. With her love of the outdoors, Joan came to love New Mexico and its southwest style. She has made many wonderful friends here. In the past few years, she was able to pursue her love and passion of cooking, working and creating recipes at The Merc as the Deli Manager. Joan has four wonderful grandchildren who loved coming and spending their summers with grandma and grandpa going to the zoo, fishing, camping, and working with her at the deli. For those who knew her a day, to those a lifetime, they were truly blessed by her amazing personality. Full of life, compassion, strength, beauty inside and out, and the love she had for everyone she met. We are better people because of her. She will be greatly missed.
Joan is survived by her husband of 41 years, John; daughter, Christine and her husband, Alan Warner, Jr. of Boise, ID and daughter, Kimberley and her husband, Todd Tolley of Lodi, CA; four grandchildren, Steffanie and Matthew of Boise, ID and Jeffrey and Alicia of Lodi, CA; mother, Beverly Horton of Dayton, NV; mother-in-law, Martha Adamson of Little Rock, AR; sister, Lynn Gatliff of Dayton, NV; brother, Craig Horton of Dayton, NV; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
