  Eagle-Tribune TEWKSBURY - Don M. Martin, 56, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at his home in Lowell, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Jeannette P. "Jan" (Mearls) Martin, who died in 2001. He was born in Rumford, Maine, Jan. 8, 1953, a son of Nancy (Haskell) Zabawa of Tewksbury and the late Camille Martin. He was raised in Tewksbury, lived in Lawrence and Salisbury, before moving to Lowell in 2009. He was employed as a welder. Don was a member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge 2070, and a member of several pool and dart leagues. He was also an accomplished musician with a guitar. He also loved the outdoors; enjoyed gardening, hiking, camping and canoeing as a leisure activities. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Martin and Kelly Martin, and their fiances of Lawrence; his parents, Mike and Nancy Zabawa of Tewksbury; four sisters, Denise Zabawa-Tello and her husband Ron of Dracut, Maryanne Martin-Blouin and her husband David of Rumford, Maine, Dianna Zabawa-Vought and her husband Ray of Indiana, Debbie Martin-Giroux of Maine; two brothers, David Zabawa and his fiancee Ellen Merrill of Billerica and Daniel Zabawa with Leslie Keith of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
