Mr. Raymond J. Comeau, age 71, died Friday morning at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Coreen "Queenie" (Dodge) Comeau.
Born in Lynn, he was a resident of Saugus for the past 42 years. He retired as a teacher in the Waltham Public Schools and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving from 1956-1961.Mr. Comeau then served in the reserves for the next 15 years retiring as a Warrant Officer.
He was a graduate of Swampscott High School (Class of 1946) and then Fitchburg State Collage.He also was a member of Gerry club, Subvets, Northeast Steamers and Lynn Yacht Club.
Ray coached girls varsity soccer at Waltham and Saugus High in the 1980's also coached boys lacrosse at Waltham High and started the boys lacrosse program at Salem High.
Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Jane E. Moskevitz and her husband Paul of Georgetown; one son, Raymond J. Comeau, Jr. of Saugus; four grandchildren, Bethany, Paul Jr., Kassidy, Raymond J. III; one brother, J. Robert Comeau and his wife Linda of Danvers; one sister inlaw, Susan Rodgers of Saugus and many nieces and nephews.
