  Mineral Wells Index (TX) October 27, 2014 Ruby A. Bottorff, of Mineral Wells, passed away Oct. 24, 2014. She was born in Weatherford, Texas, to Johnnie William Barnett and Laura Gertrude Sanders Barnett on March 26, 1940. Ruby Aree Barnett Bottorff was one of 12 children. Ruby went to school in Mineral Wells. She married Harlan Bottorff of Seattle, Wash., on Aug. 11, 1958, while Harlan was stationed in Mineral Wells at Fort Wolters. Together they had two children in Mineral Wells, which are Edward William Bottorff and Doris Gene Bottorff Alton. They moved to Washington state where they had their third child, Rickey Alan Bottorff. While Ruby was in Washington, she worked as a certified nurse's aide in a nursing home. In 1978 she returned to Texas and continued to work in nursing and private duty home care. Then she remarried her best friend Billy Gene Wiggington in January of 1988. Ruby had eight grandchildren, Shawna Bottorff Liles, Gary Bottorff, Rickey Bottorff, James Alton, John Alton Brandon Bottorff, Josh Alton and Katrena Bottorff Porter. She had 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include a sister, Minnie Barnett; brother, Charles Barnett; daughter, Doris Alton and husband, William; and sons, Edward Bottorff and wife, Lisa, and Rickey Bottorff and wife, Angie. She is preceded in death by her siblings Carl, John, Lewis, Elsie, Nelly, Leo, Laura Bell, Norma and Roy Barnett.
