Joyce Irene Anderson, 76, of Chapin, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
She was born September 16, 1930, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy and Clarabelle Fox Ruttan.
She married Arnold M. Anderson on April 5, 1959, in Kansas City, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1980.
She is survived by one daughter, Connie Lynne (husband, Arnie) Rahe of Chapin; and one grandson, Lane Rahe.
She was preceded in death by one son, Myron French Anderson; and two brothers, Richard Ruttan and Howard Ruttan.
Mrs. Anderson began working, at age 14, at a hospital in Kansas City, in the dietary department. She graduated from Kansas State University and worked as a registered dietician in several large hospitals and managed the dietary department for the Illinois School for the Blind in Jacksonville for 13 years. She later worked as a consultant for local nursing homes and eventually retired from the State of Illinois as a dietary surveyor. She was a member of Chapin Christian Church and had also attended home church. She was a former member of the Triopia School Board and loved eating out with friends, shopping, bible study, and doting on her grandson.
