  The Ithaca Journal May 15, 2006 GROTON - Mary E. Sullivan Haskell, 73, of 168 Cayuga St., Groton, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 1, 1932 in Genoa, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Barry Sullivan. Having been a resident of Groton since 1956, she had been employed at Smith Corona for 14 years and later provided childcare for many families in Groton for over 37 years. For all of the children she provided daycare for, her guidance, support and love provided them a solid foundation from which they developed into outstanding adults. She was a faithful and active communicant at St. Anthony's Church in Groton for over 50 years as well as a volunteer at the Groton Nursing Home, Groton Food Pantry and enjoyed her membership in the Forty Nightly Club. She was also a great cook and baker of which many people enjoyed. She is survived by her sons, William T. (Angel) Haskell of Genoa and Patrick J. (Charlene) Haskell of Groton; her granddaughter, Alison; her grandson, Dylan; and her sister, Rita (William) Berich of Groton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, William E. in 1999; and a brother, Thomas Sullivan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 17th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church in Groton with Reverend Scott Kubinski as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton. Memorial Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to the Groton Ambulance Fund.
