  The Examiner (Independence - Blue Springs - Grain Valley, MO) February 4, 1998 Willia Mae Burris, 82, Fort Smith, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998, at the Fort Smith Nursing Home. Mrs. Burris was a homemaker and a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Fort Smith. For more than 35 years, she was a Girl Scout Volunteer, serving as council president from 1969 to 1972. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manford Nelson Burris. Her survivors include one daughter, Rita Ellis, Independence; two sons, Manford Burris, Alma, Ark., and Gary Burris, West Covina, Calif.; two sisters, Marieta Wambsgan, Topeka, and Katheleen Yoder, Hutchison, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
