Morris "Joe" Shelley, 81, died August 20, 2012 in Hutchinson, Kan. after a long bout with cancer. He was born March 30, 1931 at Ambrose to Decatur and Alice Shelley. He attended school at Ambrose and Randolph. He served his country in the United States of America and retired from the Army. He had served two tours in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of Hutchinson, Kan.; one son, Steven of Hutchinson, Kan.; two stepsons, Mike and Mark of Hutchinson, Kan.; one brother Johnny Shelley of Bonham; five sisters, Wanda (Jean) Howery of Dodd City, Dorthy Rigsby of Savoy, Barbara Tingle of Midlothian, Betty Shaw of Sherman, and Shirley Webb of Tom Bean; six stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James Robert and Richard Preston, a sister, Mary Rowhana "Sister" Force.
