  Imperial Valley Press (El Centro, CA) December 17, 2005 IDABEL DISHEROON DOLD Sep. 5, 1911- Dec. 14, 2005 Idabel Disheroon Dold, 94, of Escondido passed away on Wednesday, December 14, from complications of a stroke. Idabel was born on September 5, 1911 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Charles and Ollie Disheroon. She graduated from Hot Springs High School at age 15 and began work in her father's insurance company. In 1935, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Through a relative who lived in Imperial County, she met Harley Dold, who had moved to the Valley from Arkansas to work for his uncle, the late Ben Hulse. They were married in 1938. During World War II, they moved to Arkansas, and then returned to the Imperial Valley in 1947, where they worked together for many years to build a successful auto dealership, Dold Auto and Equipment Company. When Harley retired in 1972, Idabel retired with him. Harley passed away in 1988, the fiftieth year of their marriage. Idabel remained in El Centro until 2002, when she moved into a retirement home in Escondido. An avid bridge player, she continued to pursue that passion as well as her devotion to major league baseball. She was able to enjoy the success of her favorite team, the Anaheim Angles, in recent years. Idabel was a member of the Women's Ten Thousand Club of El Centro, where she was active in the Club's drama section. She was a member of the Imperial Chapter of the Eastern Star, and , and a talented musician, served for many years as its organist. Idabel is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Orlando Foote of El Centro, Mary Ann and Kenneth Cook of Colorado Springs, Colorado; granddaughters, Laura Davis, Kelly Cook and Barbara Foote-Letourneau; grandsons and wives, Chris and Tara Foote, Derrick and Marsha Cook, 5 great-grandchildren, James Foote, Avery Foote, Amber Foote, Aaron Cook and Trevor Cook.
