Jimmy "JD" Denton Young, 91, of Anadarko, OK entered into his heavenly home on Monday, July 11th, 2022 in Anadarko, OK. He was born on April 9th, 1931 in Cherokee, OK to Lester and Goldie (Delano) Young.
Jim attended and graduated from Cherokee High School with the class of 1949. After graduating, he worked for 4B Construction for two years before joining the United States Army where he proudly served his country for four years.
He married Anna Laura Depperschmidt in 1953. They had two sons, Terence Dale Young and Bryan Denton Young. Jim then worked for PSO in Oklahoma City before moving to Anadarko to work for Western Farmers Electric Cooperative until his retirement in 1992.
He married Sarah Blankinship in Anadarko on January 4th, 1982.
JD was an avid coin collector, loved fishing, hunting, playing ping pong, tinkering in his shop and had many hands on hobbies including making planes and other items out of pop cans. He loved visiting the Sale Barn every Thursday morning looking for bargains. In his older years he was known as the "Candy Man." It brought him joy to hand out candy from his pocket to friends and family. He was a kind, faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church and community. JD will be remembered in the many memories he leaves in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Goldie Young, wife Anna Young, brother Billy Benton Young Sr., brother in laws Norman and Wendall Blankinship and brother and sister in law Dale and Virginia Pownell.
