Meriem Nicholes, 91, passed away Friday, Oct. 16 at Moore Assisted Living Center at Park Central in Amarillo, Texas.
Meriem was born September 13, 1929 to Chester and Fern (Delano) Nicholes on the family farm near Rolla, Kansas. She attended school in Hugo-ton, Kansas where she graduated in 1947. She received her BA degree from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. She resided in Anderson where she was Copy Editor at Warner Press until 1969. She them moved to Denver, Colorado where she was employed as secretary at her church until she retired and came to Guymon, Ok., to care for her mother.
In 2011, Meriem suffered a stroke. From that time until her death she was a resident of Park Central where she received loving care.
Meriem was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles L. Nicholes of El Paso, Tx., and a sister, Brenda Nicholes of Cleveland, Ohio.
She is survived by: two sisters, Delores and her husband, Jim Breton of Amarillo, and Charlsye and husband Jim Oblander of Goodwell, niece, Rhonda Ford and nephew, Doug Ford and wife Tawana of Amarillo and nephews Mike and wife Brandi Oblander of Norman, Ok., Chet and wife Robin Oblander of Guymon and niece Susan and husband Arctic Wikle of Wasilla, Alaska.
