Glenda Mae Ray, 87, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009.
Mrs. Ray was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Cherokee, Okla., to Ralph and Cora Fairbanks. She moved to Amarillo in 1949, from Clarendon.
Mrs. Ray loved quilting, cooking and canning. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan.
She married Wade Ray in 1944. They lived on the McMurtry Ranch near Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; and a sister, Juanita Bushman in 2007.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Perkins of Abernathy and Ann Ray of Amarillo; a son, Jimmy Ray of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Fairbanks of Reed City, Mich.; three grandchildren, Jimmy Price, Chris Ray and wife Cammie and Kimberley Dickerson and husband J.D.; and four great-grandchildren.
