A Celebration of Life for Sharon Lee Schmutzer, 62 of Orland, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Orland. A rosary will be held there on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Sharon passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2005 at Enloe Hospital after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Her daughter and her son-in-law were lovingly by her side.
Sharon was born in Eureka, Calif. on Aug. 2, 1943 to John and Oleen Conner. She attended Eureka and Arcata High School, graduated in 1961. On July 18, 1965, Sharon married her soul mate Ronald J. Schmutzer and moved to Whittier, Calif. In 1972, they relocated to Orland. Sharon was many things including an Avon Representative, Community Rep. for HomeTown Buffet, and a face painter. She was a kind and generous woman known for her contagious laugh and eternal optimistic spirit.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Ron and her mother Oleen (Conner) Everson (Orland). Sharon is survived by her daughter Shaleen Schmutzer-Smith and son-in-law Gregory Smith (Sacramento), her father and stepmother John and Lavina Conner (Chico), sister Judy Limon (Reno), sister Jolene Smith (Sacramento), brother and sister-in-law John and Julie Conner (Chico); several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many devoted friends.
