Michael "Mike" Edward Cassidy III passed away June 4, 2017, after a long illness at the age of 63.
Born in Falfurrias and raised in Corpus Christi, he had a life-long passion for surfing, fishing, hunting and the beach. After settling in Skidmore, he could be found wandering the ranch with a can of corn and a procession of animals following behind, or sitting at the table asking "What's a four letter word for..." as he worked on his daily crosswords. He had a habit of mending gates with old extension cords and stashing books everywhere.
Above all things, Mike was a honorable and committed family man. He was a respected figure in the oilfield for over 40 years. A graduate of King High School and Kilgore College, he served his country in the Army and his community in boy scouts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Brenda Kay Cassidy; his children, Stuart Michael Cassidy and Casey Marie Cassidy; sister, Shyron Cassidy Suire; and brother, Patrick Cassidy.
