  The Dispatch-Argus (Moline, IL) January 10, 1997 Memorial services for Joseph D. Hayes, 73, Bettendorf, are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. Mr. Hayes died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport. He was born March 6, 1923, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to James and Lillian Johnston Hayes. He married Alicia S. Williams Aug. 19, 1951, in Jefferson City, Mo. Survivors include the widow; daughters, Sara Cushen, Huntsville, Ala., and Nancy Gardner, West Branch, Iowa; a son, Paul Hayes, Clive, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd Torrence, Scottsdale, Ariz.
