  The Kansas City Star ( MO ) December 7, 1994 Ruth Janet Owens, 80, died Dec. 6, 1994, in the Meadowbroo k Manor of Kansas City, where she lived. Mrs. Owens was born in Sunshine, Mo ., and lived in Napoleon, Mo ., and Lexington before moving to Kansas City in 1991. Mrs. Owens taught at the Tri-County School of Cosmetology in Lexington before she retire d. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Buckner. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Lexington. Her husband, Kenneth S. Owens, died in 1977. Survivors include three sons, Steve Owens, Manhattan, Kan., Gary Owens, Byron, Ill., and Philip Owens, Sag Harbor, N.Y.; a daughter, Ruth Ann Josephson, Independence; two sisters, Forrestine Sturgis and June Payne of Lexington; six grandchildren; and four great-grand- children.
