  Thurman Funeral Home Ferne L. Morgan, 84, of Liberty, MO and formerly of Richmond, MO died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Liberty Hospital. Ferne was born on May 14, 1928 in Kansas City, MO the only child to Walter F. and Meta R. (Lueke) Oberhelman of Napoleon, MO. She married Don I. Morgan of Richmond on June 30, 1949; he preceded her in death on November 25, 1990. Don and Ferne had lived in Richmond and Orrick, MO before moving to Liberty in 1985. Ferne was a homemaker. She was a 1946 graduate from Lexington High School and attended William Jewell College. Ferne was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Lexington, MO. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Andrea Morgan of Kansas City; one daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Don Smith of Liberty; six grandchildren and their spouses, Don (Jacquie) Morgan, Matt Smith (Sarah Marshall), Tyler (Kelly) Smith, Christian Morgan, Reagan Morgan, and Madison Morgan; 4 great-grandchildren, Auggie Morgan, Isabella Morgan, Eleanor Marshall Smith and Zachary Smith; and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Faye Morgan of Kansas City.
