  The State Journal-Register (Springfield, IL) January 17, 2006 SPRINGFIELD - Helen A. Elmore, 88, of Springfield died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Virginia, the daughter of Melvin E. and Dessie Belle Fishel Henderson. She married James E. Elmore in 1937; he died in 1976. Mrs. Elmore retired as a kitchen supervisor from Haven Convalescent Center. She was a member of West Side Christian Center and Knox Presbyterian Church. Survivors: son, James L. (wife, Donna) Elmore of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
