BARTONVILLE - Linda Lou Brown, 55, of 323 Treasure St. died at 10:41 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, at her home.
Born May 2, 1949, in Virginia, Ill., to Shelly and Evelyn Russell Fishel, she married Roger L. Brown on July 17, 1971, in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are her father and stepmother, Mary Lou Fishel, of Jacksonville; one sister, Shelley (and Earl) Towle of Peoria; and one stepsister, Sharon Sweaney of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother.
She worked for 10 years at H&R Block at North Pointe, Peoria. She previously was a data entry operator for Caterpillar Inc., CILCO and Keystone Steel & Wire Co. in Bartonville. She also had worked at Seidler Hallmark.
She was of the Catholic faith and had attended St. Ann's Catholic Church.
She bred and showed oriental short-haired cats and won the "Best of Best" award at 1984 St. Louis show. She was a past president and newsletter editor of the Oriental Short-Haired Cat Club of America. She was a member of Heart of Illinois Cat Fanciers, International Ford Retractable Club and Gateway Ford Retractable Club.
She was one of the founders of the Bartonville neighborhood watch program.
She was a volunteer at Wheels O' Time Museum in Peoria.
