  The State Journal-Register (Springfield, IL) November 6, 1998 William "Bill" Fishel, 54, of Beardstown died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born Dec. 13, 1943, in Beardstown, the son of Charles and Myrtle Hunt Fishel. He married Joyce Coats in 1966 in Beardstown. Mr. Fishel was formerly employed by Freesen Inc. in Bluffs for 30 years. He attended school in Beardstown and First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Hawaii and the Philippines. Survivors: wife, Joyce; a son, David (wife, Reeda) Coats of Beardstown; two grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Fishel of Beardstown.
