  The State Journal-Register (Springfield, IL) January 7, 2001 SPRINGFIELD - Julia "Fern" Withrow, 81, of Springfield died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Regency Nursing Care. She was born March 5, 1919, in Harvel, the daughter of John Henry and Katherine Wagehoft Bechtel. She married Earl Edwin Withrow in 1942 in Dothan, Ala. Mrs. Withrow was as a secretary for A.B. Dick. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Survivors: husband, Earl; a son, Ronald Earl (wife, Darlene) Withrow of Marinette, Wis.; two grandchildren; a brother, Weldon Bechtel of Philadelphia; and a sister, Lorene Siefert of Fort Wayne, Ind.
