  Journal Gazette (Mattoon, IL) September 25, 2009 WATERLOO, IL - Hazel M. Brown, 98, of Waterloo, formerly of Charleston, Illinois, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Oak Hill Nursing Center. Hazel was born March 12, 1911 in Tuscola, Illinois, daughter of Talmage V. and Helen (Trager) McDade. She married Tony Garnet Brown, June 28, 1930; he preceded her in death in 1969. Surviving are two sons: John "Bud" Brown of Waterloo, IL and Max D. Brown of Sun City, FL. one brother: Walter McDade of Toledo. Eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by one son: Earl Leslie Brown; one daughter: Frances Brown Allison; two grandchildren: Toni Lynn Brown and Mark L. Brown; five brothers, and one sister. Hazel was a homemaker. She loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them.
