ATHOL, MA — Simon P. "Chumbly" Chamberlain, 54, of Harrington Street, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
Born in Athol on April 25, 1968, he was the son of Michael and Beverley (Atherton) Chamberlain and grew up in the Tully section of Orange.
Simon loved family and teaching them camping, fishing, hunting and living off the land. He collected coins, as well as baseball and football cards. He loved life, God and wanted to share with others.
Simon is survived by his sons, Branden and Thomas of Florida; a grandson, Tyler of Florida; his father, Michael Chamberlain of Warwick; his siblings, David "Bud" Cross of Orange, Brenda Poulin of Orlando, Florida, Bernie and his wife Dee of Merritt Island, Florida, Melissa and John Girard of Havelock, North Carolina, Jeannie Garrett of Palm Bay, Florida, Gonkie and Kristinn Sigurdsson of Athol, Rachael and Tom Parker of Athol, Randy and Kelly Rathburn of Warwick, Nathan of Athol and Steven and Ruth Walsh of Athol; 41 nieces and nephews; 54 grandnephews and grandnieces; and many friends. He will be missed by his long time friend and caregiver Christine Shaw.
Simon was predeceased by his mother on September 11, 2009.
