  The Salem Observer June 18, 2009 SALEM - James E. Sullivan, 88, of Salem, died Saturday, June 13, at his home. Mr. Sullivan was born and educated in Brookline, Mass., graduating from St. Mary's High School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. He was a manager at Grossman's in Salem and in Billerica, Mass. He later worked at Stateline Supply in Seabrook and Maxwell Supply in Salem. After his retirement, he worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Salem. He was a former Ppresident of the Salem South Little League. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics fan. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia C. (Marshall) Sullivan. He is survived by three sons, Winston Sullivan and his wife, Lynn, of Laconia, Jeffrey Sullivan and his wife, Aracelis, of Lawrence, Mass., and Scott Sullivan of Salem; a brother, Alfred Sullivan of East Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Jean Melito of Stoughton, Mass., and Eileen Flynn of Northborough, Mass.; 11 grandchildren, Krystal, Susan, Stephanie, James, Christopher, Michael, Scotty, Roberto. Genesis, Kate and Craig; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Nathan.
