Dorothy L. Fessenden, 84, of Shelby, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 in Shelby. She was born Nov. 20, 1925 in White Cloud.
She married Kenneth Fessenden July 18, 1945 in Shelby. Mrs. Fessenden was employed at Westfield-Sommers in Hart from 1962 to 1978. She worked at Gray and Company from 1978 until her retirement in 2002. She attended Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her cats, her flowers and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 3, 1987.
Mrs. Fessenden is survived by her children, Janice Kokx of Hart, Claire (Carl) Dennison of Hart, Marge (Al) Ramthun of Shelby, Barbara Domalavage of Pensacola, Fla., Helen (Kim) Hettmansperger of Hesperia, Diane (Larry) Rood of Shelby, Linda (Mark) Tanner of Cadillac and Ted (Liz) Fessenden of Crystal Valley; her sister-in-law, Barbara Fessenden of Muskegon; brother, Fred (Doris) Fessenden of Hart; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Fessenden of Shelby, Robert Putney of Shelby, Leroy and Freida Tanner of Shelby and Claire and Barbara Fessenden of New Era; also 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 10 great-greatgrandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Fessenden, parents, Allen and Dorothy Houghtaling and stepfather, Russell Fessenden, and brothers, Donald Robert Nelson, Max Fessenden and Ted Fessenden.
