January 23, 2000.
GARDNER - Gordon L. Gardner, aged 69 of Jenison. It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. 2 Corinthians 4:13-14 NIV.
On January 23, 2000, Gordon Louis Gardner was lifted into our heavenly Father's presence. His life was a demonstration of Gods mercy, love and grace. His testimony was his commitment to his savior Jesus Christ. Cor. 4:13-14. He could no longer walk in this world so he was gently lifted and surrounded by the angles and taken into the presence of his heavenly Father. His loved ones, family and friends surrounded him in his death.
Gordon was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Dee Elgersma and grandson Christopher Elgersma.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marian, his children Christine Larry Bishop, Gordon Jr. Brenda Gardner, Rick Ritha Gardner, Gary Sandra Gardner, son-in-law Harvey Elgersma; his grandchildren: Jennifer Gary Dykhouse, Gwendolyn Bishop, Melanie Bishop, Natalie Bishop, Lindsey Gardner, Brandon Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Rob Elisa Gardner, Rachel Gardner, David Gardner, Nathan Elgersma, Matthew Elgersma, Jessica Elgersma, Joshua Elgersma; great grandchildren Austin M. Bishop, Christian Gardner; brother Edward Edna Gardner, sisters: Barbara Ernest Dell, Maxine Harvey Poling, Emily Bayless; sister-in-law Marge DeVries and beloved aunt June Gardner.
Gordon retired from Steelcase in 1992 after 25 years of service and currently worked for Target/ Hudson Corporation.
