  The Bay City Times (MI) December 30, 2004 Micihgan - Robert Edward Kalmes, age 83 years, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in the Bay Medical Care Facility. He was born to the late Leonard and Mary (Watters) Kalmes on April 26, 1921 in Bay City. Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed with Baker-Perkins for 46 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Bob was a member of St. James Church and its Usher's Club. He was married to the former Jean Elizabeth O'Leary and she preceded him in death on November 28, 1989. Survivors include his five children: Tim Kalmes of Arizona, Mary Kalmes and her husband, Larry Friedman of Ann Arbor, Rob (Jan) Kalmes, Terry Kalmes and Laurie (Joe) Cichocki, all of Bay City; seven grandchildren: Jim, Justin, and Allison Kalmes, Jacob and Jared Cichocki, Lauren and Alex Friedman. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Kalmes.
