LINCOLN - Carl S. Fickett, 91, husband of the late Dorothy "Dot" (Smith) Fickett, passed away Dec. 13, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Woodland, Washington County, the son of Roe K. and Lena E. (Perkins) Fickett.
Carl grew up in Woodland, Washington County, and graduated from Woodland High School. He served in the Navy during World War II, in the Pacific on the USS Cowpens. He married his longtime love Dot, and they spent 65 years together. Carl owned Fickett Electric in Lincoln for many years. After retirement, they spent summers at their home on the little Narrows, and winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., and always enjoyed doing things together. They enjoyed the time they spent at Living Waters Bible Camp in Danforth. He also enjoyed his hunting camp on the St. Croix River. He was a member of Golden Key, and the VFW in Lincoln. He was a faithful member of Maranatha Riverside Church. He also enjoyed being part of the three o'clock gang McDonald's.
He is survived by two sisters, Lynn and George Hill of Baileyville and Betty Welch of Lee and Zephyrhills, Fla., and their children; and also nieces and nephews, Darlene Smith of New Hampshire, Doug Smith and Lisa of Princeton, Dot Muncey and Rick, of Lincoln, Dorene Elkins and Paul of Thorndike and Deborah Paradis and Glenn of Massachusetts and their families.
