  Bangor Daily News NEWBURGH – Gertrude A. Torrey, 82, wife of the late Milton F. Torrey Jr., passed away peacefully Sept. 7, 2007, with her family at her side, at home. She was born July 5, 1925, in Milbridge, the daughter of Roscoe and Alice (Stevens) Parritt. Gert attended schools in Steuben. She always had the coffee pot ready and time for a visit with family and friends. She loved traveling Downeast to visit family members. She also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting and ceramics. She is survived by three sons, Bruce Torrey and his wife, Sylvia, Cameron Torrey and his wife, Mary, and Milton F. Torrey II and his wife, April; sisters, Loretta Phinney and her husband, Irving, and Olive Longer and her husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Bruce Torrey Jr., Angel Torrey, Amanda Mandigo and Roscoe "R.J."
