  Tribute Archive Norman Blair McCord, 83, of Vinton went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. B. and Norma McCord. Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Berdine E. McCord; sons, Peter S. McCord and wife, Elizabeth and Bruce McCord and wife, Hope; and four grandchildren, Walker, Chloe, Kent and Leah. He was a graduate of Hillsdale College. He was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church for 39 years, an Eagle Scout and was retired from the Boy Scouts of America after 20 years of service. He served districts in Palo Alto, CA, Reno, Nevada, Burbank and Trans-Atlantic Council which included Switzerland, Austria and Black Forest. After coming back to the United States, he went to the Greensburg, PA Council and finished his career at the Roanoke Council. He also served in the Air Force.
