LITTLE DEER ISLE - Christina M. (Haskell) Pert, 79, wife of the late Randall Pert, died Nov. 22, 2009, at an Orono health care facility. She was born June 7, 1930, in Little Deer Isle, the daughter of Elmer P. and Lucy B. (Eaton) Haskell. Christina was a lifelong resident of Little Deer Isle. She worked for 42 years at Stonington Canning Co. until it closed in the 1990s.
Christina belonged to Galilean Gospel Temple Church, Stonington, and was the church secretary there for 25 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorena Whitmore and her husband, Sonny, of Ellsworth; three grandchildren, Eric Whitmore and his wife, Jackie, Christine Lanphier and her husband, Rick, and Kelly Brown and her husband, Scott; four great-grandchildren, Malarie, Madison, Kyle and Kacie; a brother, Roland Haskell; two sisters, Winnifred Thompson and her husband, Phillip, of Little Deer Isle and Laurice Hardie and her husband, Billy, of Stonington; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Randall, Christina was predeceased by her father in 1964, her mother in 1984; a brother, Raymond Haskell in 1989; and a sister, Hazel Cooper in 1996.
