  Bangor Daily News March 3, 2010 Violet M. Hartford, 79, died March 1, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility, after a long illness with melanoma. She was born May 20, 1930, in Deer Isle, the daughter of Peter S. and Mamie A. (Eaton) Haskell. She was employed with the Bangor school department for 10 years as a cook. Violet was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bangor. Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Raymond and her fiance, Bob Davis, of Gray, Janice Willey and her husband, Lance, of Florida, Melanie Lyons and her husband, Glenn, of Bangor; and four grandchildren, Brian Raymond, Amanda Taylor, Nicole Boucher and Neil Lyons; three great-grandchildren, Patrick Raymond, Stephanie Long, and Kristina Taylor; one sister, Patricia Parks of Bangor; nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special cousin, Gleneida Blastow; and other very special friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Heslyn A. Hartford; a brother, Clyde Haskell; and a sister, Annie Hardie. Spring interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
