Milbridge— Herma G. West, 81, died Friday, May 30, 2003 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth.
She was born at Steuben, August 2, 1921 the daughter of Lloyd and Doris (West) West.
She was raised by her mother, Doris and her stepfather, Daniel Smith in Wyman.
Herma worked for Jasper Wyman and Son for thirty years which included working at the clam factory, fish factory and the blueberry plant in Cherryfield. She enjoyed her home, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Frank West of Milbridge; her loving children, Carroll West and his wife Lorraine, Herman West and his wife, Nancy all of Milbridge and Sandra West of Steuben; a sister Gloria Beal and her husband, Curtis of Milbridge; a son in law, George Hanington of Steuben; a daughter in law Elizabeth West of Bangor; three sisters in law Muriel Beal of Milbridge, Patricia Smith of Amesbury, MA, and Elaine West of Lincoln; nine grandchildren, Louene Fitzpatrick, Timothy West, Thomas West, Frank West, Penny Grant, Susan West, Kevin Hanington, Ernest Hanington and Heather Shepherd; fifteen great- grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She will be greatly missed by two special friends Barbara Rossi and Lorena Colbeth.
She was predeceased by a son James West in 2000 and a daughter Delores W. Hanington in 2003; two brothers Earland West and Nathaniel Smith.
