  Portland Press Herald (ME) February 21, 2000 James E. West, 56, died Feb. 19, 2000, of cancer. He was born in Milbridge and was a son of Frank E. and Herma G. West. Mr. West worked for Sylvania for six years, and then General Electric for 28 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member and past master of the Orrington Masons, Scottish Rites Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, and a member of Tuscan Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for 16 years and was awarded the Grand Cross of Color from the Order of Rainbow Girls. Mr. West was the godfather of Heidie and Adam Morrow. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Hill West of Brewer; his parents of Milbridge; two brothers, Carroll and Herman, both of Milbridge; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Dolores) Hannington and Sandra West, both of Steuben.
