  The Bangor Daily News July 8, 2003 GOULDSBORO - Leroy E. Young Sr., died Monday, July 7, 2003 at his home in Steuben. He was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Gouldsboro, the son of Douglas and Bernice (Stevens) Young. Leroy served 20 years in the Army and the Navy, serving during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. After his retirement, he was self employed digging clams and cutting wood. Leroy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diana Jean (Dorr) Young of Steuben; four children, Tammy Jacques of Waltham, Leroy Young Jr., of Gouldsboro, Phyllis Young of Gouldsboro, Bruce Young and his wife, Theresa of Steuben; three grandchildren, Crystal and Victor Jacques, and Lillian Young; four brothers, Charles V. Stevens and his wife, Priscilla, of Boothbay Harbor, Richard Young and his wife Connie, of Cherryfield, Wayne Young of Gouldsboro, and Douglas Young Jr. and his wife, Arlene, of Hancock; three sisters, Clara Daley and her husband Kendall, Marjorie Morse, all of Gouldsboro, and Leola Burge of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Leroy was preceased by his parents, and a daughter, Beulah Young.
