  Bangor Daily News (ME) April 3, 2013 DEER ISLE - Norman Ellis Haskell passed away April 2, 2013 at the age of 81. _____ Find-a-Grave DEER ISLE — Norman Ellis Haskell August 31, 1931 – April 2, 2013 The son of Austin Davis Haskell and Hazel Del (Davis) was born at the corner of Long Cove in Deer Isle and lived in the neighborhood his entire life. Norman served his country in the Korean War and was stationed at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado. On March 23, 1957, he married Theresa Smith and started their lives together raising their children. Norman held several jobs in his lifetime. He worked in the local quarries and mines and as a carpenter for many years and helped build many homes on the island, including his own and his children’s. Before retirement he worked as a janitor at the Deer Isle-Stonington High School. Norman enjoyed traveling and had many memories of family trips. He is predeceased by his parents, Austin Haskell and Hazel (Davis) Haskell; his wife, Theresa Haskell; his daughter, Brenda L Haskell; and his sister, Rosalyn Haskell Drouin. Norman’s body may be gone, but his spirit and soul will live on in each of us.
