DEER ISLE, MAINE— Doreene "Mim" Bridges Haskell, 76, passed away on May 11, 2024. Born in Castine, she was the youngest child of Melvin and Barbara Holmes Bridges.
She is survived by her four children, Jennifer of Deer Isle, Barbara and Seth of Deer Isle, Jonathan of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jessica and Scott of Gorham, Maine.
She is also survived by one brother, Richard Bridges, and his wife Carolyn of Deer Isle. Doreene is also survived by one brother-in-law, David, and partner Bill of Deer Isle.
She had nine grandchildren: Robert, Patrick, Samantha, Joseph, Chelsea, Whitney, Rylie, Cayle and Mason, all of whom she loved dearly. Her grandchildren were such a bright light in her life. She also loved her many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
In the final months of her life she found happiness in the pictures and visits from her two great-grandchildren Jeremiah and Noah Brown.
Doreene was known for many talents. She loved to collect things. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was an amazing cake decorator and cook. Doreene "Mim" always had a cookie jar full of treats for whomever stopped by.
After her retirement from Connie's Restaurant, she could always be seen at her grandchildrens' sporting events. She was known as "Mim" by all.
Doreene was predeceased by her true love and husband of 51 years, Jon Haskell. She was also predeceased by grandson Joseph Brown. Doreene was also predeceased by her sisters Connie, Cynthia and sister-in-law Carole.
