Holly B. Snyder, 56, of Dairy Hill Road, died on June 13, 2014, at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, following a 1 year battle with Lung cancer.
Holly was born on November 8, 1957 in Cooperstown, a daughter of Betsy (Autenrith) Newman of Poland and the late Richard Newman.
She was raised in Cold Brook and graduated from Poland Central School in 1975. Holly studied music at Onondaga County Community College, from where she graduated in 1977, and furthered her education at Fredonia SUNY.
On February 17, 1979, she was united in marriage with Daniel C. Snyder at the First Baptist Church of Newport. After raising her sons, she took courses at HCCC and shortly thereafter was hired in admissions. She was employed at the College for over twenty years, lastly as Coordinator of Advisement, until ill health forced her retirement earlier this year. She was an accomplished musician from her early years and touched many peoples lives through music. Holly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newport.
Survivors besides her husband, Daniel, and mother, Betsy, include two sons; one brother; two sisters; two step-children; six grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
