  The Post-Standard (Syracuse, NY) May 11, 1992 Bessie E. Haskell, 96, formerly of Little Falls and Herkimer, died Saturday at Stone Ridge Nursing Home. Mrs. Haskell was born in Salisbury Center. From 1912 to 1944, she and her husband owned and operated Bessie's Five-Cent Sandwich Shop in Little Falls. From 1944 to 1948, they owned and operated Haskell's Diner on Route 5. They started the Haskell Machine Shop in 1948, and moved to Herkimer in 1958. She was a member of the Evening Star Chapter of OES and a charter member of the Order of the Amaranth. She is survived by a son, Harold Alder of Chittenango; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
