Kathryn F. "Kaye" Frazer, 92, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, May 13, 2022, at MercyOne Senior Care in Oelwein.
Kathryn Frances Russo was born February 2, 1930, in Oelwein, the daughter of James D. and Rosina C. (Rizzuti) Russo. On July 6, 1930, she was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. In 1948, she graduated from Oelwein High School.
On February 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to James Earl Frazer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. For over 54 years, Kaye was Community and Lifestyle Editor for the Oelwein Daily Register. She continued to write Bits, Bats and Bouquets until the middle of April 2022. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 50-year member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Rita #321 of Oelwein, Beta Sigma Phi, Oelwein Historical Society and many other organizations. Kaye's faith was very important to her. She enjoyed reading, writing, Jumbles, watching British Comedy, puzzle books and collecting Angels.
Kaye is survived by her son: Jeffery (Jeannie) Frazer of Oelwein; daughter: Janice Lynne (Tab) Sly of Oelwein; granddaughter: Sarah Jeanne (Shane) Peterson of Cedar Rapids; great grandson: Seth J.; sister: Anne Strawn of Oelwein; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on October 27, 2013; and 2 sisters: Grace West and Jeanne Ahrens.
