Charles ‘Chuck’ W. Hegeman September 1, 2007 HINCKLEY — Charles "Chuck" W. Hegeman, age 66, of Hinckley, passed away September 1, 2007, at Faxton-St Luke’s Healthcare Center, with his loving family at his side.
He was born January 19, 1941, in Prospect, a son of Warren and Elnora Brown Hegeman, and educated in Holland Patent schools. Chuck was united in marriage to the former Barbara Loucks Coleman, on June 9, 1962, in Floyd, NY. He was a machinist at Waterbury’s in Oriskany, until 1986, then operated Hegeman’s General Store in Hinckley from 1986 to 1996 and later worked at Northeaster Non Woven in Utica from 1996 to 2006.
Chuck was a loving and caring Husband, Father and Grandfather, who enjoyed his many camping trips on Hinckley Lake. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed cheering for the Earnhardt Racing Team
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ben Poczatek of Prospect; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sue Coleman of Prospect; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor "Dolly" and Vince Jordan of Marion, MD; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Connie Hageman of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Mike and Beatrice Hegeman of Remsen; grandchildren, Keri Burke and her husband, Kevin of Whitesboro, Christopher Poczatek and Amanda Poczatek of Prospect, Scott Coleman and his wife, Kathy of Prospect, Jesse Coleman of Holland Patent, Stephanie Coleman and Shanon Pope, both of PA; great grandchildren, Kasey, Victoria, Elijah, Brayden and Gregory; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Cheryl Sexton of Floyd, James and Judy Sexton of Camden, Gary and Jelinda Sexton of Mahomet, IL, Richard and Pearl Loucks of Rome, and Hugh Westcott of Floyd; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Butala and the staff of the Faxton Cancer Center and the staff of the 2nd Floor Alan Calder Wing of FaxtonSt. Luke’s Healthcare Center.
