  The Dallas Morning News (TX) April 4, 2013 Melton, John Louis Preceded in death by his parents Rufus Ira Melton and Clara Elizabeth Lynch Melton; brothers, Elbert & Willie Melton; sister, Dorothy Rhoades; his first wife, Nancy Lucille Melton, and second wife, Gwendolyn Schneider Melton. Survived by son, Gary Duane Melton; daughters, Linda Fitzgerald and Karen Elaine Davis and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Erin Eix, Adam Otero, Lisa Fitzgerald, and Kimberly Butler; great-grand-children, Karisa, Laci, Chelsea, Kira, Allegra, Trey, and Luke. John was good and faithful to his family and to his God. He loved both Nancy & Gwendolyn faithfully. He was known for his sense of humor and made a pastime of making people laugh. He was compassionate and had a very tender heart. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and most recently attended the Church of Christ at Mesquite Christian Care Center.
